Founder

Millie brings invaluable strategic oversight and over three decades of diverse professional experience across the legal, construction, hospitality, insurance, and workforce development sectors to Fenix Rising Corp including project management, and compliance training.

Millie is a recognized 2023 Region 12 Workforce Champion, and has spent years navigating complex systems to empower individuals facing significant life transitions—serving as a career counselor and then a multi-grant manager overseeing up to ten programs simultaneously to leading critical initiatives in disaster recovery (Hurricanes Maria/Ian, Project Opioid, Community Health Worker Initiatives, Sector Strategies, addressing language barriers through development and implementation of two Impacct Grants, Get There Faster assisting individuals with re-entry, Careers and Cares focused on single pregnant mothers and mother's with minor children, and foundational upskilling through Florida Ready to Work preparation and test proctoring.

With a strong academic background in Paralegal Studies and Criminal Justice, Millie combines operational rigor with a passion for restorative justice. Fenix Rising Corp provides structured, compassionate pathways that bridge the gap between survival and long-term economic independence, ensuring every woman receives the tools and dignified support needed to rebuild her life.

Carol Sierra

VP of Finance

Carol brings extensive financial leadership and analytical expertise to Fenix Rising Corp, featuring 8 years of dedicated service as Senior Manager of Finance within the workforce development sector alongside a strong background in corporate accounting.

Holding formal education in accounting and financial management, Carol was instrumental in the complete build-out and implementation of the Sage accounting system for workforce operations.

She specializes in fiscal oversight, compliance, grant accounting, and strategic budgeting—ensuring resources are maximized, operations remain audit-ready, and organizational initiatives achieve sustainable community impact.

Araceli Cordero

Outreach and advocacy lead

Araceli is the heart and voice of Fenix Rising Corp’s community mission. Having spent 15 years within the correctional system, Araceli brings invaluable lived experience to her role—offering a deep, first-hand understanding of incarceration, reentry, and the complex hurdles women face when seeking stable employment.

Complementing her advocacy is a strong background in hospitality and restaurant management, where she developed exceptional leadership, operational skills, and personal empathy. She also brings foundational academic coursework in nursing and healthcare management—equipping her with a deep understanding of patient care systems, health equity, and clinical operations. This unique combination enhances her ability to effectively support women navigating complex wellness, reentry, and medical hurdles.

Her journey makes her an irreplaceable asset to our team, enabling her to connect with participants with genuine understanding while advocating fiercely to open doors for every woman walking a similar path.

We founded Fenix Rising Corp with a vision: to provide a sanctuary where individuals and families can find the strength to rebuild their lives after life's hardest transitions, beginning with women. Our journey began from a deep-seated belief that every person deserves a path forward that honors their dignity and resilience.

Today, we stand as a beacon of hope for women navigating the complexities of divorce, domestic violence, personal loss, or incarceration—serving as the vital anchors of their households. By offering holistic support, career coaching, digital literacy, and a compassionate community, we ensure that no one has to face these challenges alone. As we establish these strong roots, our vision naturally expands to intentionally extend comprehensive support to men and children, ensuring entire families thrive long-term. Together, we are rising from the ashes to create a future built on empowerment, workforce readiness, and mutual support.
